World Marketing Forum, 21 June 2011
Miller Matola, CEO of Brand South Africa, recently named Africa’s most valuable African nation brand by Brand Finance plc, and Thebe Ikalafeng, Founder and Chairman of Brand Africa, are just two of the African speaker highlights of the inaugural World Marketing Forum organised by Global Marketing Network and Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, taking place from Monday 27th June to Wednesday 29th June at The Golden Tulip, Accra.
Delegates attending the World Marketing Forum will be also able to hear for the first time the success stories from the Chief Executives of Africa’s most valuable nation brands. In what promises to be a provocative and powerful opening afternoon session on 28th June Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of Brand Finance South Africa will be joined by the Chief Executives of Brand Ghana (Mathias Akotia), Brand Kenya (Mary Kimonye) and Brand South Africa (Miller Matola), three of the Top 10 countries announced in the recently revealed BrandFinance African Nation Brand League. Each CEO will be delivering keynote presentations on such themes as “The host nation speaking with one voice”, “One people building a Nation Brand together” and “Holding hands to build Africa's Most Valuable Nation Brand”.
Later the same evening Thebe Ikalafeng, Founder and Chairman of Brand Africa is due to deliver an inspiring and thought provoking keynote presentation. He contends that the image of Africa does not reflect its growth and entrepreneurial spirit that has seen Africa outpace developed economies and growing at 5% during tough global economic conditions.
Thebe Ikalafeng says. “Key to Africa’s growth and future are dynamic African businesses and brands, and an enabling political environment that will be a catalyst for Africa’s independent agenda and economic emancipation.”
Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of Brand Finance South Africa says. “As Global Marketing Network’s global brand valuation partner we were delighted to be invited to be a strategic partner of the inaugural World Marketing Forum. The fact that Ghana beat off stiff competition from other countries to host it is testament to the emerging strength of Brand Africa.”
